MRSM National Young Scientist Camp

On 5-8 August, I am a participant of MRSM National Young Scientist Camp and I'm representative from MRSM Pasir Salak.The camp was held at International Islamic University Malaysia. There are 100 top students from different MRSM's and we had given a group of 4 student s.Each of us are from different MRSMs. There, we need to do a project based on our subjects and my group is a Biology group. We started our project with a guide of a Professor Md Zahangir Alam. Our project is about Water Treatment  for river cleaning agent placement. Professor Md Zahangir Alam thought us  that we could also do a water treatment using activated carbon from an empty fruit bunch.  Activated carbons derived from oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) were investigated to find the suitability of its application for removal of phenol in aqueous solution through adsorption process. A control (untreated EFB) was used to compare the adsorption capacity of the activated carbons produced from these processes. The last day at IIUM Gombak, all of the participants need to deliver a 3 minutes pitch about our whole projects in front of the participants and the VIP's including the Q&A session from visitors and the other professors. I am the first speaker and I am proud of myself and thanked to our teachers for giving me the opportunity to experienced this exciting project. I am so glad to know that my group won the 3rd place. This camp will forever in my mind.
